The IPC illuminates the brake indicator when the following occurs:
• | The body control module (BCM) detects that the park brake is engaged. The IPC receives a class 2 message from the BCM requesting illumination. If the vehicle is shifted out of park with the park brake engaged and a class 2 message is received indicating that the vehicle speed is greater than 3 MPH, the BCM sends a class 2 message to the radio in order to activate the audible warning. |
• | The IPC performs the displays test at the start of each ignition cycle. The indicator illuminates for approximately 3 seconds. |
The IPC illuminates the low brake fluid indicator in the message center when the IPC receives a low signal from the low brake fluid switch. The IPC sends a class 2 message to the radio in order to activate an audible warning.
