Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement Aztek

J 38778 Door Trim Pad and Garnish Clip Remover

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 621726  Size: SH
  1. Open the door.
  2. Remove the power window switch assembly. Refer to Front Side Door Window Switch Replacement - Left Side or Front Side Door Window Switch Replacement - Right Side .
  3. Remove the screws from the front door trim panel

  4. Object Number: 621722  Size: SH
  5. Remove the front door trim panel using the J 38778 .
  6. Remove the power mirror switch. Refer to Power Mirror Switch Replacement if equipped.
  7. Reposition the electrical harness connectors.
  8. Remove the front door trim panel from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 621722  Size: SH

    Important: Before installing the front door trim panel to the front door inner panel, the old trim panel retainers MUST be discarded and replaced with NEW trim panel retainers.

  1. Install the new trim panel retainers to the front door trim panel.
  2. Route the electrical connectors to the front door trim panel.
  3. Install the power mirror switch. Refer to Power Mirror Switch Replacement if equipped.
  4. Align the front door trim panel to the front door inner panel, guiding the front door handle through the trim panel.
  5. Install the upper edge of the front door trim panel to the top edge of the inner door panel, pressing down firmly until the front door trim panel is fully seated.
  6. Install the front door trim panel by firmly pressing the retainer clips until the clips are fully seated around the perimeter of the front door trim panel.

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  8. Install the screws to the front door trim panel.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the front door trim panel screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  10. Install the power window switch. Refer to Front Side Door Window Switch Replacement - Left Side or Front Side Door Window Switch Replacement - Right Side .
