Modes of Operation
Automatic Door Locks
The following are the modes of operation for the automatic door locks
feature:
| The automatic door locks feature is disabled. |
| All of the doors lock when the vehicle is shifted out of PARK with the
ignition ON. |
| All of the doors lock when the vehicle is shifted out of PARK with the
ignition ON. Only the driver door unlocks when the vehicle is shifted into
PARK. |
| All of the doors lock when the vehicle is shifted out of PARK with the
ignition ON. All of the doors unlock when the vehicle is shifted into PARK. |
| All of the doors lock when the vehicle is shifted out of PARK with the
ignition ON. Only the driver door unlocks when the key is removed from the
ignition with the vehicle in PARK. |
| All of the doors lock when the vehicle is shifted out of PARK with the
ignition ON. All of the doors unlock when the key is removed from the ignition
with the vehicle in PARK. |
Delayed Locking
The following are the modes of operation for the delayed locking feature:
| The delayed locking feature is disabled. |
| All of the doors lock five seconds after the last door is closed when
the lock switch is activated. |
Headlamp Exit Delay
The following are the modes of operation for the headlamp exit delay
feature:
| The headlamp exit delay feature is disabled. |
| A short illumination period is active for headlamp exit delay (15 seconds). |
| A medium illumination period is active for headlamp exit delay (30 seconds). |
| A long illumination period is active for headlamp exit delay (60 seconds). |
Remote Activation Verification
The following are the modes of operation for the remote activation verification
feature:
| Feedback is disabled for both a remote lock and a remote unlock command. |
| The headlamps and the park lamps flash on both a remote lock and a remote
unlock command. |
| The headlamps and the parklamps flash on both a remote lock and a remote
unlock command. The horn chirps on the second remote lock command. |
Remote Driver Door Unlock
The following are the modes of operation for the remote driver door
unlock feature:
| All of the doors unlock on the first remote unlock command. |
| Only the driver door unlocks on the first remote unlock command. The
passenger door unlocks on the second remote unlock command. The remaining
doors unlock on any subsequent remote unlock command. |
Programming Features on Vehicles With Keyless Entry Without DIC
Important: Transmitter 1 and transmitter 2 may be programmed separately for two
different drivers. When programming the personalization features using the
keyless entry transmitters, be sure to use the correct transmitter
for the driver whose features are currently being programmed.
Enter Programming
To enter the programming mode, perform the following actions:
- Turn the ignition to RUN.
- Place the vehicle in PARK.
- Ensure that the season odometer is visible.
- Press and hold the TRIP/RESET button on the instrument panel for
two seconds.
The PROGRAM MODE illuminates on the IP providing the status.
- Press the LOCK button on the keyless entry transmitter to designate
the driver for this session of personalization. The driver number is confirmed
by chimes.
Automatic Door Locks
Continue with the following steps in order to personalize the automatic
door locks:
- Press the power door lock switch. The vehicle will chime with
the number of chimes corresponding to the current mode (see Automatic Door
Locks modes above).
- Press the power door lock switch again in order to advance to
the next mode. The vehicle will chime with the number of chimes corresponding
to the mode.
- Continue to press the power door lock switch until the correct
mode is reached.
Delayed Locking
Continue with the following steps in order to personalize the delayed
locking feature:
- Press the power door unlock switch. The vehicle will chime with
the number of chimes corresponding to the current mode (see Delayed Locking
modes above).
- Press the power door unlock switch again in order to advance to
the next mode. The vehicle will chime with the number of chimes corresponding
to the mode.
- Continue to press the power door unlock switch until the desired
mode is reached.
Headlamp Exit Delay
Continue with the following steps in order to personalize the headlamp
exit delay feature:
- Turn the park lamps ON. The vehicle will chime with the number
of chimes corresponding to the current mode (see Headlamp Exit Delay modes
above).
- Turn the park lamps OFF then back ON in order to advance to the
next mode. The vehicle will chime with the number of chimes corresponding
to the mode.
- Continue to cycle the park lamp switch until the desired mode
is reached.
Remote Activation Verification
Continue with the following steps in order to personalize the remote
activation verification feature:
- Press the LOCK button on the correct keyless entry transmitter.
The vehicle will chime with the number of chimes corresponding to the current
mode (see Remote Activation Verification modes above).
- Press the LOCK button on the keyless entry transmitter again in
order to advance to the next mode. The vehicle will chime with the number
of chimes corresponding to the mode.
- Continue to press the LOCK button on the transmitter until the
desired mode is reached.
Remote Driver Door Unlock
Continue with the following steps in order to personalize the remote
driver door unlock feature:
- Press the UNLOCK button on the correct keyless entry transmitter.
The vehicle will chime with the number of chimes corresponding to the current
mode (see Remote Driver Door Unlock modes above).
- Press the UNLOCK button on the keyless entry transmitter again
in order to advance to the next mode. The vehicle will chime with the number
of chimes corresponding to the mode.
- Continue to press the UNLOCK button on the transmitter until the
desired mode is reached.
Exit Programming
Any of the following list of events will cause the programming sequence
to be terminated:
• | The ignition is moved from the RUN position. |
• | The vehicle is shifted out of PARK. |
• | The TRIP/RESET button on the instrument panel is pressed. |
• | The programming time expires. |
Programming Features with the Driver Information Center (DIC)
Enter Programming
To enter programming with the DIC, perform the following actions:
- Turn the ignition to RUN.
- Place the vehicle in PARK.
- Press the LOCK button on the keyless entry transmitter whose number
corresponds to the correct driver for this session of personalization.
- Press the MODE button for the DIC until the DIC displays PERSONALIZATION
FOR DRIVER # (where # equals the current driver number).
- Press the SET button for the DIC to enter programming mode.
The PROGRAM MODE indicator illuminates providing the status.
- The DIC displays PRESS MODE FOR NEXT OPTION and then PRESS SET
TO CHANGE OPTION.
Headlamp Exit Delay
Continue with the following steps in order to personalize the headlamp
exit delay feature:
- The DIC displays HEADLAMP EXIT DELAY: OFF/15/30/60.
- Press the SET button to place the arrow before the desired choice.
- Press the MODE button in order to advance to the next option.
Delayed Illumination
Continue with the following steps in order to personalize the delayed
illumination feature:
- The DIC displays INTERIOR LIGHTING DELAY: OFF/ON.
- Press the SET button in order to place the arrow before the desired
choice.
- Press the MODE button in order to advance to the next option.
- If the previous choice was INTERIOR LIGHTING DELAY ON, the DIC
displays INTERIOR LIGHTING ON: KEY OUT/DOOR.
- Press the SET button in order to place the arrow before the desired
choice.
- Press the MODE button in order to advance to the next option.
Automatic Door Locks
Continue with the following steps in order to personalize the automatic
door locks:
- The DIC displays AUTO DOOR LOCKS: OFF/ON.
- Press the SET button in order to place the arrow before the desired
choice.
- Press the MODE button in order to advance to the next option.
- If the previous choice was AUTO DOOR LOCKS ON, the DIC displays
AUTO DOOR UNLOCK: OFF/DRIVER/ALL.
- Press the SET button in order to place the arrow before the desired
choice.
- Press the MODE button in order to advance to the next option.
- If the previous choice was AUTO DOOR UNLOCK DRIVER or AUTO DOOR
UNLOCK ALL, the DIC displays UNLOCK: PARK/KEY OUT.
- Press the SET button in order to place the arrow before the desired
choice.
- Press the MODE button in order to advance to the next option.
Delayed Locking
Continue with the following steps in order to personalize the delayed
locking feature:
- The DIC displays DELAYED LOCKING: OFF/ON.
- Press the SET button in order to place the arrow before the desired
choice.
- Press the MODE button in order to advance to the next option.
Remote Driver Door Unlock
Continue with the following steps in order to personalize the remote
driver door unlock feature:
- The DIC displays REMOTE DOOR UNLOCK: DRIVER/ALL /ALL.
- Press the SET button to place the arrow before the desired choice.
- Press the MODE button in order to advance on to the next option.
Remote Activation Verification
Continue with the following steps in order to personalize the remote
activation verification feature:
- The DIC displays UNLOCK FEEDBACK: OFF/LIGHTS.
- Press the SET button to place the arrow before the desired choice.
- Press the MODE button in order to advance on to the next option.
- The DIC displays LOCK FEEDBACK: OFF/LIGHTS/HORN.
- Press the SET button to place the arrow before the desired choice.
- Press the MODE button in order to advance on to the next option.
Exit Programming
When the programming is complete, PERSONALIZATION SELECTION DONE appears
on the display. The DIC then displays PRESS SET TO EXIT then PRESS MODE TO
CONTINUE. Any of the following conditions cause the programming to
end before the list is complete:
• | The programming timer of one minute expires. |
• | The vehicle is shifted out of PARK. |
• | The ignition is moved from the RUN position. |
