Circuit Description

The BCM monitors the courtesy lamp supply voltage circuit which starts at the BCM and travels through the courtesy lamps, rear view mirror lamp, cargo lamp, reading lamps and back to the BCM for theater dimming. This circuit also travels through the glove box lamp, rear view mirror, reading lamps, vanity lamps and then on to ground.

Conditions for Running the DTC

This DTC shall run only if the Voltage to the BCM is between 9.0 and 16.0 volts and no communication codes are set.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

The voltage of the courtesy lamp supply voltage circuit at the module shall be less than 2 volts for 1/2 second while the output is active.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

The BCM sets a DTC and disables the following State of Health (SOH) DTCs:

    • DTC U1096
    • DTC U1255
    • DTC U1300
    • DTC U1301

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

    • The voltage of the courtesy lamp supply voltage circuit at the module shall be greater than 2 volts for 1/2 second while the output is active.
    • A history DTC clears after 100 malfunction free ignition cycles.
    • The BCM receives the clear code command from the scan tool.
