Removal Procedure
- Remove the liftgate trim. Refer to
Liftgate Trim Panel Replacement
.
- Remove the rear liftgate spoiler water channel.
- Remove the rear liftgate spoiler nuts.
- Using a thin-bladed tool, cut the adhesive tape along the upper edge of
the rear spoiler.
- Using a thin-bladed tool, cut the adhesive
tape along the lower edge of the rear spoiler.
- Remove the rear spoiler from the liftgate.
- Clean the vehicle mounting surface and the rear spoiler using Varnish
Makers and Painters (VMP) naphtha.
Installation Procedure
Important: Do not touch the adhesive backing.
- Remove the backing tape from the underside of the spoiler.
- Install the rear spoiler to the liftgate, pressing into place until the
adhesive is fully seated.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the nuts to the rear liftgate spoiler.
Tighten
Tighten the rear liftgate spoiler nuts to 6 N·m (53 lb in).
- Install the rear liftgate spoiler water channel.
- Install the liftgate trim. Refer to
