Memory Seat Control Module Replacement Rendezvous
Removal Procedure
Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in the Preface section.
- Disable the SIR. Refer to
Disabling the SIR System
in SIR.
- Adjust the front seat assembly up and forward in order to access the fasteners (1)
at the rear of the front seat cushion assembly
- Remove the fasteners.
- Adjust the front seat assembly to the rear of the vehicle.
- Angle the front seat cushion (1) up, in order to access the assembly
fasteners (2).
- Remove the fasteners.
- Lift the front seat cushion assembly (1) away from the seat riser.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Using a flat-bladed tool, release the module from the bracket.
- Remove the memory seat module from the seat frame.
Installation Procedure
- Install the memory seat module to the seat frame.
- Press the module into the bracket until the module is firmly seated.
- Connect the electrical connector to the
memory seat module.
- Install the seat cushion assembly (1) to the seat riser.
- Install the fasteners (2) to the seat cushion assembly (1).
- Adjust the front seat assembly up and forward in order to access the fasteners (1).
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the fasteners (1) to the seat cushion assembly.
Tighten
Tighten the fasteners to 9 N·m (80 lb in).
- Angle the front seat cushion up, in order to access the assembly fasteners.
Tighten
Tighten the fasteners to 9 N·m (80 lb in).
- Enable the SIR. Refer to
Enabling the SIR System
in SIR.
- Calibrate the seat. Refer to
Memory Seat Calibration
.
