Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the brake hose bolt to the brake caliper (1).
Tighten
Tighten the brake hose bolt to 43 N·m
(32 lb ft).
Notice: Make sure the brake hose is not twisted or kinked after
installation. Damage to the hose could result.
Important: Use the stripe on the brake hose in order
to align the brake hose with the notch in the brake hose bracket.
- Install the brake hose (3) to the brake
hose bracket (2).
- Install the brake hose retainer (4) to the brake hose (3).
- Remove the rubber cap or plug from the exposed brake pipe fitting end.
- Install the brake pipe fitting (1) to the brake hose.
Tighten
Tighten the brake pipe fitting to 21 N·m
(15 lb ft).
- Bleed the hydraulic brake system. Refer to
Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding
.
- Install the wheel and tire. Refer to
