Removal Procedure
- Drain the coolant until the coolant level is
below the lower radiator hose. Refer to
Cooling System Draining and Filling
.
- Remove the lower radiator hose from the coolant inlet pipe. Refer to
Radiator Outlet Hose Replacement
.
- Remove the water coolant inlet pipe bolts and the coolant inlet pipe.
- Remove and discard the coolant inlet pipe seal.
Installation Procedure
- Install the NEW coolant inlet pipe seal.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the coolant inlet pipe bolts.
Tighten
• | Tighten the water outlet upper bolt (2) to 23 N·m (17 lb ft). |
• | Tighten the water outlet lower bolt (1) to 50 N·m (37 lb ft). |
- Install the lower radiator hose to the coolant inlet pipe. Refer to
Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement
.
- Fill the cooling system. Refer to
Cooling System Draining and Filling
