Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle?

Place the hazard switch to the ON position.

Do the hazard lamps turn ON?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections

Go to Step 3

  1. Remove the hazard flasher.
  2. Using a test lamp, backprobe the center fuse block between battery positive voltage and the hazard switch signal circuit.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 5

Test for a high resistance, open or a short to battery positive voltage in the hazard switch signal circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs .

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 9

Inspect for poor connections at the hazard flasher. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs .

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the multifunction turn signal and hazard switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs .

Replace the hazard flasher.

Did you complete the replacement?

Replace the multifunction turn signal and hazard switch. Refer to Turn Signal Multifunction Switch Replacement .

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
