Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle?

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
  2. Disconnect the retained accessory power (RAP) relay.
  3. Check the power windows and sunroof for correct operation.

Do the sunroof and the power windows operate?

Go to Step 3

  1. Disconnect the console electrical center.
  2. Test for a short to battery in the power windows and sunroof feed circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 10

Replace the console electrical center. Refer to Console Electrical Center or Junction Block Replacement in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the replacement?

Go to Step 10

  1. Open one of the car doors.
  2. Probe the RAP relay control circuit with a test lamp connected to a good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 7

Replace the RAP relay.

Test the RAP relay control circuit for a short to voltage. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Inspect for poor connections at the console electrical center connector to the body control module (BCM). Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the BCM. Refer to Control Module References for replacement, setup, and programming.

Did you complete the replacement and the set up procedure?

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
