Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the left IP Insulator Panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side in Instrument Panel, Gauges, and Console.
  2. Remove the knee bolster panel. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges, and Console.

    3. Object Number: 182644 Size: SH
  3. Remove the bolts from the hood release handle base.

    4. Object Number: 630479 Size: SH
  4. Remove the hood release cable from the hood release handle.
  5. Remove the hood release handle from the instrument panel.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 630479 Size: SH
  1. Install the hood release cable to the hood release handle.

    2. Object Number: 182644 Size: SH
  2. Install the hood release handle to the instrument panel.

    3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the bolts to hood release handle base.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the hood release handle base bolts to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  4. Install the knee bolster panel. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges, and Console.
  5. Install the left IP Insulator Panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side in Instrument Panel, Gauges, and Console.
