Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 621387  Size: SH
  1. Remove the rear bumper fascia. Refer to Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement .
  2. Remove the energy absorber. Refer to Rear Energy Absorber Replacement .
  3. Remove the impact bar bolts.

  4. Object Number: 621389  Size: SH
  5. Remove the impact bar.

Installation Procedure

    Important: Position the left side first, then the right side.

  1. Position the impact bar to the body using the alignment pin for location.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the impact bar bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the impact bar bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  5. Install the energy absorber. Refer to Rear Energy Absorber Replacement .
  6. Install the rear bumper fascia. Refer to Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement .
