Front Side Door Molding Replacement Aztek

Tools Required

J 25070 Heat Gun

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 621076  Size: SH
  1. Use a heat gun J 25070 .

  2. Object Number: 621085  Size: SH

    Notice: Use a plastic, flat-bladed tool to prevent paint damage when removing an emblem/name plate.

  3. Use a plastic, flat-bladed tool to remove the upper edge of the front door body side molding from the surface.

  4. Object Number: 621079  Size: SH
  5. Pull the upper edge of the front door body side molding out, in order to release the retainers.
  6. Remove the front door body side molding from the door.

  7. Object Number: 623316  Size: SH

    Caution: Wear safety glasses in order to avoid eye damage.

  8. Drill a small hole into the center of the center retainer pins of the support retainer.

  9. Object Number: 622296  Size: SH
  10. Install a small screw into the hole in the center retainer pin.

  11. Object Number: 622311  Size: SH
  12. Remove the center retainer pin using small pliers and pulling out the center retainer pin.

  13. Object Number: 622313  Size: SH
  14. Remove the front door body side molding support from the door.

  15. Object Number: 321645  Size: SH
  16. Remove all adhesive from the rear door body panel using 3M™ ScotchBrite molding adhesive remover disk 3M™ P/N 07501 or equivalent.
  17. Clean the rear door panel surface using Varnish Makers and Painters (VMP) naphtha and allow to air dry.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 622313  Size: SH
  1. Position the support retainer with the notch down and the retainers to the holes in the door panel.

  2. Object Number: 622316  Size: SH
  3. Install in the center pins of the retainers using a small hammer.

  4. Object Number: 618050  Size: SH
  5. Use a heat gun J 25070 .
  6. Position the lower flange of the front door body side molding to the retainer support and align the tab to the notch in the retainer support.
  7. Important: Do not touch the adhesive backing on the molding.

  8. Remove the protective liner from the back side of the door body side molding.
  9. Position the upper edge of the front door body side molding retainer clips to the holes in the door panel.
  10. Install the retainer clips to the door panel by pressing in until fully seated.
  11. Install the upper edge of the front door body side molding by applying pressure to the entire length of the molding starting at the center and working outward to ensure a maximum bond to the door panel.

Front Side Door Molding Replacement Rendezvous

Removal Procedure

  1. Open the front door.

  2. Object Number: 755482  Size: SH

    Notice: Use a plastic, flat-bladed tool to prevent paint damage when removing an emblem/name plate.

  3. A thin, plastic flat-bladed tool may be used between the molding and the door to help release the retainers.
  4. Pull the upper edge of the front door body side molding out, in order to release the retainers.

  5. Remove the front door body side molding from the door.

    Caution: Wear safety glasses in order to avoid eye damage.

  7. Drill a small hole into the center of the center retainer pins of the support retainer.

  8. Object Number: 622296  Size: SH
  9. Install a small screw into the hole in the center retainer pin.

  10. Object Number: 622311  Size: SH
  11. Remove the center retainer pin using small pliers and pulling out the center retainer pin.

  12. Object Number: 622313  Size: SH
  13. Remove the front door body side molding support from the door.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 622313  Size: SH
  1. Position the support retainer with the notch down and the retainers to the holes in the door panel.

  2. Object Number: 622316  Size: SH
  3. Install in the center pins of the retainers using a small hammer.
  4. Position the lower flange of the front door body side molding to the retainer support and align the tab to the notch in the retainer support.
  5. Position the upper edge of the front door body side molding retainer clips to the holes in the door panel.
  6. Install the retainer clips to the door panel by pressing in until fully seated.
  7. Close the front door.
