Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle?

Verify that the endgate power door locks inoperative fault is present.

Do the endgate power door locks operate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

  1. Disconnect the appropriate endgate lock actuator.
  2. Probe the endgate lock actuator unlock control circuit with a test lamp that is connected to a good ground.
  3. Activate a door lock switch to UNLOCK.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 4

  1. Probe the endgate lock actuator lock control circuit with a test lamp that is connected to a good ground.
  2. Activate a door lock switch to LOCK.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 5

  1. Connect a test lamp between the endgate lock actuator unlock control circuit and the endgate lock actuator lock control circuit of the appropriate endgate lock actuator harness connector.
  2. Activate a door lock switch to LOCK and UNLOCK.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Test the endgate lock actuator unlock control circuit for a short to ground or an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the endgate lock actuator lock control circuit for a short to ground or an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the endgate lock actuators. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the body control module (BCM). Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the appropriate endgate lock actuator. Refer to Endgate Latch Replacement in Body Rear End.
