Removal Procedure
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .

    2. Object Number: 621472 Size: SH
  2. Remove the rear fascia. Refer to Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement .

    3. Object Number: 621379 Size: SH
  3. Remove the rear energy absorber. Refer to Rear Energy Absorber Replacement .

    4. Object Number: 621389 Size: SH
  4. Remove the rear impact bar. Refer to Rear Bumper Impact Bar Replacement .

    5. Object Number: 879769 Size: SH
  5. Remove the trailer hitch assembly.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 879769 Size: SH
  1. Install the trailer hitch to the vehicle.
  2. Install the bolts to the frame rail.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 101 N·m (75 lb ft).

  3. Install the rear impact bar. Refer to Rear Bumper Impact Bar Replacement .

    4. Object Number: 621379 Size: SH
  4. Install the rear energy absorbers. Refer to Rear Energy Absorber Replacement .

    5. Object Number: 621472 Size: SH
  5. Install the rear fascia. Refer to Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement .
  6. Lower the vehicle.
