Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle?

Place the hazard switch to OFF.

Are the hazard lamps OFF?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections

Remove the hazard flasher.

Do the hazard lamps turn OFF?

Go to Step 4

Inspect for a short to ground in the hazard switch signal circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs .

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 9

  1. Disconnect C201.
  2. Connect a test light between battery positive voltage and hazard switch signal circuit at C201.
  3. Place the hazard switch to the OFF position.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 7

Inspect for poor connection at the harness connectors of the underhood fuse block. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs .

Did you find and correct the condition?

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the multifunction turn signal and hazard switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs .

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the hazard flasher. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs .

Replace the console fuse block. Refer to Underhood Electrical Center or Junction Block Replacement .

Did you complete the replacement?

Replace the multifunction turn signal and hazard switch. Refer to Turn Signal Multifunction Switch Replacement .

Did you complete the replacement?

Replace the hazard flasher.

Did you complete the replacement?

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
