The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in the PI.
Condition/Concern:
Some Gen 6 customers may report on an OnStar (Blue button) or Emergency (red button) key press it results in: progression tones (1 every 6 seconds), dropped or a voice only call. A possible cause could be the OnStar VCIM is latched onto the wrong cellular
network provider.
Recommendation/Instructions:
Ensure the Tech 2 is updated with software version 25.003 or later. Enter the OnStar Vehicle Communication Interface Module > Program digital Home SID/NID > Set the SID value to 00001, save and exit the menu. DO NOT change the NID setting
unless directed by OnStar or General Motors Technical Assistance.
Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
