Some 1984 THM 250-C XD, WK, WN, XE, XH, XK, and THM 350-C WS model transmissions may experience a rattle which is similar to a tin can rattle coming through the transmission shifter cable (floor console model only) which is most noticeable at speeds above 50 MPH (80 km).
This noise may be caused by the low and reverse piston and clutch plate assembly. To repair this condition, replace the low and reverse piston and clutch plate assembly. Order service package number 8641962.
