In response to Dealer requests Technical Services, in conjunction with Service Parts Operations, has changed the procedure for releasing Product Service Bulletins. Bulletins will no longer be held for release until there is stock on required parts in Canada. Earlier release of the technical information will assist your personnel in making repair decisions and in dealing with customer concerns. In order to avoid unnecessarily tying up an owner's vehicle, Dealers should make sure that parts are available prior to attempting repairs.
Parts not available in Canada may be ordered V.I.P. through your Servicing Parts Distribution Centre.
We believe this policy change is a positive step toward acheiving our mutual Customer Satisfaction goals.
General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
