INSUFFICIENT HEATER AIR AT THE DRIVERS FEET/FACE

SUBJECT: INSUFFICIENT HEATER AIR AT DRIVER'S FEET/OR HOT AIR BLOWING ON DRIVER'S FACE (INSPECTION PROCEDURE)

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1987-91 'H' MODEL

CONDITION:

------------ The incorrect heater outlet duct could be installed if the car is equipped with a console.

CORRECTION:

------------ The heater outlet duct can be inspected by removing the ashtray. A console equipped car heater duct, Part Number 25557578, has the driver's side outlet half covered so the air will not blow into the console. A non-console car heater duct, Part Number 25537359, has both outlets open. Refer to Figure 1.

The duct is retained by two (2) screws that can be removed through the ashtray opening.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
