Some 1992 Bonneville models may exhibit poor appearance of the back window molding due to shrinkage.
----------- To correct this condition, the following steps must be followed.
1. Obtain rear window reveal molding, part number 25607456.
2. Remove the molding assembly. Assure the molding retainer is clean and dry.
3. Apply Loctite 380 (Black Max) or Loctite 410 or equivalent in a thick bead around the entire retainer. See Figure 1. Assure the area where the molding is bonded together in the lower corners is securely cemented to the molding retainer.
4. To install the new molding, align the centerline notch at the center of the lower portion of the molding. Insert the molding into the retainer both directions from the centerline. Assure the molding is not being stretched during installation as excess molding at the top center area will result.
Parts are currently available from GMSPO.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
