Subject: METALLIC RATTLE AT REAR OF VEHICLE (INSTALL NEW HEAT SHIELD BUMPER)

CONDITION:

---------- Owners of some 1992 Bonneville models may comment that they hear a metallic rattle at the rear of the vehicle when the deck lid is closed.

CORRECTION:

----------- A new heat shield bumper has been released for service. (Part No. 25610777)

Parts are available from GMSPO.

PROCEDURE:

---------- 1. Attach the rubber bumpers between the heat shield and the underbody at the locations shown in Figure 1.

2 . Pulling down on the rear of the heat shield will provide enough clearance to adhere the bumpers to the floor pan. Check to be sure the shield contacts the bumpers when the shield is released.
