COLD AIR ON PASSENGER/DRIVER'S FEET/LO AIR FLOW FROM PASS A/C

SUBJECT: COLD AIR ON PASSENGER OR DRIVER'S FEET OR LOW AIR FLOW FROM PASSENGER A/C OUTLET (REPLACE DUCT GASKETS)

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1992 "H" MODELS

CONDITION:

--------- Some 1992 Pontiac Bonnevilles may experience a condition of cold air on the feet while in A/C Mode. This cold air has the possibility of coming from the side window defogger gasket or the A/C gasket to the modular duct.

CORRECTION:

---------- 1. Remove the passenger side hush panel below the dash.

2. Using a flashlight and your hands, check for gaps or air leaks between the cross car and the modular duct with the fan on high and the A/C on.

3. If any leakage of gaps are found, remove the I/P per the service manual.

4. Replace the two gaskets between the cross car duct and the modular duct with kit P/N 12536299 which includes both gaskets.

5. Reinstall the I/P per the service manual.

6. Check for proper operation of the in car sensor aspirator on C68 systems.

For vehicles repaired under warranty use:

Labour Operation: C2540

Labour Time: 2.7 hrs.

(Add with Centre Console): 0.4 hrs.
