SERVICE MANUAL UPDATE-SEC. 8C PROC. FOR I/P COM. LOCK CYLIN.

SUBJECT: SERVICE MANUAL UPDATE - SECTION 8C - REMOVE AND INSTALL PROCEDURE FOR IP COMPARTMENT LOCK CYLINDER (REVISED)

MODELS AFFECTED: 1993 BONNEVILLE MODELS

The following Remove and Install Procedure for the IP Compartment Lock Cylinder on page 8C-18 has been revised:

Please update your respective Service manual accordingly.

IP COMPARTMENT LOCK CYLINDER

Remove or Disconnect

1. IP compartment latch assembly, refer to "IP Compartment Latch Assembly" in this section.

2. With key removed, push in silver tab on top of latch and insert key.

3. While looking at rear of lock cylinder, turn key clockwise until cylinder tabs align, then slide cylinder and key assembly out.

Install or Connect

1. If new latch, open latch and remove dummy lock cylinder.

2. Press silver tab on top of lock cylinder, insert key, and slide cylinder into latch, lining up the tab and slot in the back.

Important

o The latch locking bar will spring into the locked position with the lock cylinder removed unless the latch is already open.
