SERVICE MANUAL UPDATE-SEC.10 FRONT DOOR TRIM PANEL

THIS PROCEDURE IS TO BE INSERTED AFTER FRONT DOOR TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT ON PAGE 6-4-4.

TRIM PANEL - DISASSEMBLY

1. REMOVE STAPLES AND SOUND ABSORBER FROM BACK OF TRIM PANEL. 2. REMOVE TWO FASTENERS AT TOP OF ARM REST HANDLE, IF PRESENT, AND DISCARD. 3. REMOVE THREE SCREWS AND ARMREST. 4. REMOVE TWO SCREWS AND SUPPORT, THEN REMAINING SIX SCREWS AND MAP POCKET. 5. REMOVE SPEAKER(S) FROM MAP POCKET, IF NECESSARY. SPEAKER GRILL(S) MAY BE REMOVED WITHOUT REMOVING SPEAKERS. 6. REMOVE STAPLES AND BELT RETAINER. 7. STRAIGHTEN TABS SECURING UPPER TRIM COVER TO DOOR TRIM PANEL AND REMOVE STAPLES AT TOP EDGE OF UPPER TRIM COVER. 8. REMOVE UPPER TRIM COVER. 9. REMOVE DECKLID RELEASE SWITCH.

TRIM PANEL - ASSEMBLY

IMPORTANT: IF REPLACING FRONT DOOR TRIM PANEL, IT MAY BE NECESSARY TO CUT HOLES FOR SPEAKER(S). FOLLOW SPEAKER OUTLINE(S) MARKED ON INSIDE SURFACE OF NEW TRIM PANEL.

1. INSTALL DECKLID RELEASE SWITCH. 2. INSTALL UPPER TRIM COVER AND BEND TABS OVER BACK OF TRIM PANEL, THEN STAPLE TOP EDGE OF MATERIAL USING 3/8 INCH X 1/4 INCH STAPLES. 3. INSTALL BELT RETAINER USING 1/2 INCH X 3/8 INCH STAPLES. 4. INSTALL SPEAKER(S) AND SCREWS INTO MAP POCKET, IF APPLICABLE. 5. INSTALL MAP POCKET, SIX SCREWS AND THEN SUPPORT, TWO SCREWS. 6. INSTALL ARMREST AND THREE SCREWS. 7. INSTALL SOUND ABSORBER WITH 3/8 INCH X 3/16 INCH STAPLES.
