THIS BULLETIN UPDATES FIGURE A-4, DASH HARNESS TO ENGINE HARNESS INTERCONNECT FOUND ON PAGE 6E-A-6. THE ILLUSTRATION INCLUDED IN THE SERVICE MANUAL DEPICTS THE CIRCUIT LOCATIONS INCORRECTLY. REFER TO THE UPDATED ILLUSTRATION WHEN DIAGNOSING CIRCUITS IN THE DASH HARNESS TO ENGINE HARNESS INTERCONNECT.
THIS BULLETIN ALSO UPDATES CHART C-10A (PAGE 1 OF 3) AND C-10B (PAGE 1 OF 3) DIAGNOSTIC CHARTS IN SECTION 6E3, "DRIVEABILITY AND EMISSIONS." THE REVISED CHARTS SPECIFY THE USE OF A DVM (J 39200) INSTEAD OF A TEST LIGHT TO CHECK THE A/C REQUEST CIRCUITRY BETWEEN THE A/C CONTROLS AND THE PCM. USE OF THE DVM FOR THIS PURPOSE IS NECESSARY DUE TO THE LOW CURRENT SUPPLIED TO THE A/C REQUEST LINE BY SOME SYSTEMS.

GENERAL MOTORS BULLETINS ARE INTENDED FOR USE BY PROFESSIONAL TECHNICIANS, NOT A "DO-IT-YOURSELFER". THEY ARE WRITTEN TO INFORM THOSE TECHNICIANS OF CONDITIONS THAT MAY OCCUR ON SOME VEHICLES, OR TO PROVIDE INFORMATION THAT COULD ASSIST IN THE PROPER SERVICE OF A VEHICLE. PROPERLY TRAINED TECHNICIANS HAVE THE EQUIPMENT, TOOLS, SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS AND KNOW-HOW TO DO A JOB PROPERLY AND SAFELY. IF A CONDITION IS DESCRIBED, DO NOT ASSUME THAT THE BULLETIN APPLIES TO YOUR VEHICLE, OR THAT YOUR VEHICLE WILL HAVE THAT CONDITION. SEE A GENERAL MOTORS DEALER SERVICING YOUR BRAND OF GENERAL MOTORS VEHICLE FOR INFORMATION ON WHETHER YOUR VEHICLE MAY BENEFIT FROM THE INFORMATION.
