SOME OWNERS MAY COMMENT THAT THE HEADLAMPS/PARKLAMPS DO NOT GO OUT WHEN THE TWILIGHT SENTINEL IS ENABLED AND THE IGNITION SWITCH IS TURNED "OFF" BEFORE PLACING VEHICLE IN "PARK". THIS IS A NORMAL FUNCTION OF THE LAMP CONTROL MODULE AND DOES NOT REPRESENT A FAILURE WITH THE MODULE.
TO VERIFY THAT THE LAMP CONTROL MODULE IS OPERATING PROPERLY, PERFORM THE FOLLOWING STEPS:
1. ENGAGE PARKING BRAKE.
2. TURN IGNITION SWITCH TO "RUN".
3. ACTIVATE THE TWILIGHT SENTINEL.
4. COVER PHOTOCELL.
5. VERIFY THAT THE HEADLAMPS/PARKLAMPS ARE ON.
6. WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING, PLACE GEAR SELECTOR OUT OF "PARK".
7. TURN IGNITION SWITCH TO "OFF" (THE HEADLAMPS/PARKLAMPS SHOULD STILL BE ON).
8. PLACE VEHICLE IN "PARK".
9. TURN OFF THE TWILIGHT SENTINEL.
THE HEADLAMPS/PARKLAMPS SHOULD GO OUT. IF THE HEADLAMPS/PARKLAMPS REMAIN ON, REFER TO THE FOLLOWING BULLETINS:
OLDSMOBILE AND PONTIAC: SAFETY RECALL BULLETIN - CAMPAIGN #95-C-04 (GM OF CANADA CAMPAIGN #4D48)
BUICK, OLDSMOBILE AND PONTIAC: BULLETIN #488104A: HEADLAMPS WILL NOT TURN OFF ON VEHICLES WITH TWILIGHT SENTINEL (T82) OR DAYTIME RUNNING LAMPS (T61) - 1995 C/H VEHICLES.

GENERAL MOTORS BULLETINS ARE INTENDED FOR USE BY PROFESSIONAL TECHNICIANS, NOT A "DO-IT-YOURSELFER". THEY ARE WRITTEN TO INFORM THOSE TECHNICIANS OF CONDITIONS THAT MAY OCCUR ON SOME VEHICLES, OR TO PROVIDE INFORMATION THAT COULD ASSIST IN THE PROPER SERVICE OF A VEHICLE. PROPERLY TRAINED TECHNICIANS HAVE THE EQUIPMENT, TOOLS, SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS AND KNOW-HOW TO DO A JOB PROPERLY AND SAFELY. IF A CONDITION IS DESCRIBED, DO NOT ASSUME THAT THE BULLETIN APPLIES TO YOUR VEHICLE, OR THAT YOUR VEHICLE WILL HAVE THAT CONDITION. SEE A GENERAL MOTORS DEALER SERVICING YOUR BRAND OF GENERAL MOTORS VEHICLE FOR INFORMATION ON WHETHER YOUR VEHICLE MAY BENEFIT FROM THE INFORMATION.
