SOME OWNERS MAY COMMENT THAT THE FUEL GAGE WILL READ 1/4 TANK OF FUEL AND THE CHECK GAGES LAMP WILL ILLUMINATE.
THE CONDITION MAY BE CAUSED BY A BUILD OR PART VARIATION IN THE ASSEMBLY PLANT.
REPLACE THE IPC CLUSTER WITH A NEW EXCHANGE UNIT FROM DELCO ELECTRONICS. REFER TO SECTION 8C OF THE SERVICE MANUAL FOR REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION PROCEDURES.
THE NEW CLUSTER WILL LOWER THE ILLUMINATION POINT TO 1/8 OF A TANK. AFTER FIVE GALLONS OF FUEL HAVE BEEN ADDED TO AN EMPTY TANK, THE CHECK GAGES WILL GO OFF.
USE THE FOLLOWING LIST TO FIND THE CORRECT REPLACEMENT CLUSTER FOR THE CORRECT VEHICLE BY VIN BREAKPOINT. THIS VIN BREAKPOINT IS FROM START OF PRODUCTION.
PARTS ARE CURRENTLY AVAILABLE FROM YOUR AC DELCO SERVICE EXCHANGE CENTER.
