Stop Lamp Switch Replacement Stoplamp/BTSI Switch Lower
Removal Procedure
- Remove the I/P sound insulators,
as needed for access.
- Remove the lower switch, twist counterclockwise to unlock and
pull out of the retainer.
- Remove the electrical connectors from the switch.
Installation Procedure
- Slide the switch (with all
the connections made) into the retainer.
- Press the switch in until the switch plunger is fully depressed
into the switch barrel.
- Twist the switch clockwise until the travel stop has been reached
(approximately 60 degrees). With the switch fully locked, the electrical connector
will face the 3 o'clock position.

Removal Procedure
- Remove the upper switch.
Twist the switch counterclockwise and pull out of the retainer.
- Remove the electrical connectors from the switch.
Installation Procedure
Notice: When installing the brake pedal switches it is very important that the
brake pedal remain in the full up or at rest position or damage to the brake
system and/or switch misadjustment may occur.
Important:
• | Connect the switch and install it as shown. Make all connections
before installing. Be sure all connectors are firmly sealed and locked. |
• | When pressing the switch into the retainer, do not apply a sideload
to the switch. |
- Slide the switch (with all the connections made) into the retainer.
- Press the switch in until the switch plunger is fully
depressed into the switch barrel.
- Twist the switch clockwise until travel stop has been reached
(approximately 60°). With the switch fully locked, the electrical connector
will face the 3 o'clock position.
