Fuel Pressure Service Valve Replacement VIN K

Tools Required

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 12277  Size: SH
  1. Clean the area around the fuel pressure connection with GM X-30A or equivalent.
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
  3. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief .
  4. Remove the fuel pressure connection valve using a standard valve core tool.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 12277  Size: SH
  1. Install the fuel pressure connection valve assembly using a standard valve core removal and installation tool.
  2. Install the fuel pressure connection valve cap (3).
  3. Tighten the fuel filler cap.
  4. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
  5. Inspect for leaks.
  6. 5.1. Turn ON the ignition switch for 2 seconds.
    5.2. Turn OFF the ignition switch for 10 seconds.
    5.3. Turn ON the ignition switch.
    5.4. Check for fuel leaks.

Removal Procedure

  1. Clean the area around the fuel pressure connection with GM X-30A or equivalent.
  2. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief .
  3. Remove the fuel pressure connection valve using a standard valve core tool.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 12275  Size: SH
  1. Install the fuel pressure connection valve assembly using a standard valve core tool.
  2. Install the fuel pressure connection valve cap (1).
  3. Tighten the fuel filler cap.
  4. Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  5. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
  6. Inspect for leaks.
  7. 5.1. Turn ON the ignition switch for 2 seconds.
    5.2. Turn OFF the ignition switch for 10 seconds.
    5.3. Turn ON the ignition switch.
    5.4. Check for fuel leaks.
