Removal Procedure

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.

  2. Object Number: 471749  Size: SH
  3. Remove the electrical connector (2) from the intake air temperature (IAT) sensor (1).

  4. Object Number: 210987  Size: SH
  5. Remove the air cleaner intake assembly .

  6. Object Number: 180140  Size: SH
  7. Remove the snap ring (3) at the air inlet screen (2) on the throttle body (1).
  8. Inspect the throttle body bore and the throttle valve plate for deposits. It is necessary to open the throttle valve to inspect all of the surfaces.
  9. Notice: Do not use any solvent that contains Methyl Ethyl Ketone (MEK). This solvent may damage fuel system components.

  10. Use a clean shop towel in order to clean the throttle body bore and the throttle valve plate with Top Engine Cleaner, or an equivalent.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 180140  Size: SH
  1. Install the snap ring (3) at the air inlet screen (2) on the throttle body (1).
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the air cleaner intake duct assembly .
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the air cleaner intake duct clamp to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  5. Install the electrical connector (2) to the IAT sensor (1).
