Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tire and Wheel.

  2. Object Number: 185403  Size: SH
  3. Remove the brake rotor. Refer to Brake Rotor Replacement in Brakes.
  4. Remove the wheel stud with the J 6627-A .

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 185403  Size: SH
  1. Install the new stud from the back side of the hub.
  2. Install flat washers on the wheel stud.
  3. Important: Ensure that the wheel stud is fully seated against the wheel hub flange.

  4. With the flat side of a wheel nut against the washers, tighten the wheel nut until the wheel stud head seats against the wheel hub flange.
  5. Install the brake rotor. Refer to Brake Rotor Replacement in Disc Brakes.
  6. Install the brake caliper. Refer to Brake Caliper Replacement in Disc Brakes.
  7. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  8. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tire and Wheel.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the wheel nuts to 140 N·m (100 lb ft).
