The dual zone A/C system is an electrically controlled heating, ventilating and air conditioning system. This system allows the driver and passenger the ability to adjust discharge temperature of the system independently.

The following aspects are controlled by the system:

    • The air delivery mode
    • The inlet air source
    • The compressor clutch operation
    • The blower operation
    • The driver and passenger discharge temperatures

The driver may manually select A/C compressor OFF, recirc or outside air, fan speed and one of five different air delivery modes of operation from the control system.

One of these modes is a fully automatic dual zone mode which determines the following conditions (set by the driver):

    • The air intake source
    • The air delivery mode
    • The blower speed
    • The discharge air temperatures

The passenger has a separate control that can increase or decrease air discharge temperature for the passenger side of the vehicle.
