Removal Procedure
- Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR.
- Move the seat to the full forward position.
- Remove the rear seat track bolt trim cover on the inboard seat track.
- Remove the rear seat track trim cover (1) from the outboard seat track.
- Remove the seat track retainer bolts.
- Move the seat to the full rearward position.
- Remove the front seat track bolt trim covers.
- Remove the front seat track bolts.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors.
- Remove the seat from the vehicle.
Caution: When you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring, you must disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System. Failure to follow the correct procedure could cause air bag deployment, personal injury, or unnecessary SIR system repairs.
Installation Procedure
- Install the seat into the vehicle.
- Connect the electrical connectors.
- Install the track retainer bolts.
- Install the seat track bolt trim covers.
- Install the front seat retainer bolts.
- Install the front seat track retainer bolt covers.
- Reposition the seat.
- Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in Seat Belts.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the seat track retainer bolts to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).
Tighten
Tighten the front seat track retainer bolts to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).
