Did you perform the Lighting System Diagnostic System Check?

  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  3. Position the fog lamp switch to the OFF position.
  4. With a scan tool, observe the fog lamp switch input parameter in the climate control panel (CCP) w/C67 or instrument panel module (IPM) w/CJ2 data list.

Does the scan tool indicate that the fog lamp switch is OFF?

With a scan tool, observe the fog lamp relay control status.

Does the scan tool indicate the fog lamp relay is OFF?

  1. Turn the ignition OFF.
  2. Disconnect the fog lamp relay.
  3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.

Did the fog lamps turn OFF?

--

Go to Step 5

  1. Turn the ignition OFF.
  2. Connect a test lamp between the fog lamp relay coil side feed circuit and the fog lamp relay control circuit.
  3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Test for a short to ground in the fog lamp relay control circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the dash integration module (DIM). Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Disconnect the fog lamp switch.
  3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  4. With a scan tool observe the fog lamp switch input status.

Does the scan tool indicate the fog lamp switch is OFF?

Test the fog lamp switch input circuit at the climate control panel (CCP) w/C67 or the instrument panel module (IPM) w/CJ2 for a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the IPM w/CJ2 or CCP w/C67. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the IPM module w/CJ2 or the CCP w/C67. Refer to Instrument Panel Module Replacement in Body Control System or Control Assembly Replacement in HVAC Systems - Manual.

Inspect for poor connections at the fog lamp switch connector. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.
