  1. Disconnect the heated seat module connector C1.
  2. Measure the voltage of the battery positive voltage (B+) circuit of the heated seat module to a good ground.

Does the voltage measure within the specified range?

10-15 V

Measure the voltage from the battery positive voltage (B+) circuit of the heated seat module to the ground circuit of the heated seat module.

Does the voltage measure within the specified range?

  1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  2. Measure the voltage from the Ignition Positive Voltage circuit of the heated seat module to a good ground.

Does the voltage measure within the specified range?

10-15 V

  1. Disconnect the LH heated seat module connector C1.
  2. Disconnect the RH heated seat module connector C1.
  3. Test the Inhibit Control circuit of the rear integration module (RIM) for a short to ground.

Does the resistance measure less than the specified value?

5 ohms

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Measure the resistance of the Hi/Low Heated Seat Switch signal circuit at the heated seat module connector to a good ground.
  3. Activate the Hi/Low heated seat switch.

Does the resistance measure less than the specified value?

5 ohms

Test the OFF Switch signal circuit at the heated seat module connector for a short to ground.

Does the resistance measure greater than the specified value?

5 ohms

  1. Disconnect the heated seat switch connector.
  2. Test the Hi/Low Heated Seat Switch signal circuit between the heated seat switch and the heated seat module for a high resistance or an open.

Does the resistance measure less than the specified value?

5 ohms

Test the OFF Switch signal circuit between the heated seat switch and the heated seat module for a short to ground.

Does the resistance measure greater than the specified value?

5 ohms

  1. Measure the resistance of the Hi/Low Heat Switch signal of the heated seat switch to the heated seat switch ground.
  2. Activate the Hi/Low heat switch.

Does the resistance measure less than the specified value?

5 ohms

  1. Measure the resistance of the OFF Heat Switch signal of the heated seat switch to the heated seat switch ground.
  2. Activate the OFF heat switch.

Does the resistance measure less than the specified value?

  1. Disconnect the heated seat module connector C2.
  2. Test the resistance between the Heater Control circuit and the Controlled Ground circuit of the front heated seat cushion/back.

Does the resistance measure less than the specified value?

5-10 ohms

  1. Disconnect the heated seatback connector.
  2. Test the heated seatback circuit for a high resistance or an open.

Is the resistance less than the specified value?

5 ohms

Test the resistance between the Temperature Sensor signal circuit and the ground circuit of the heated seat cushion.

Important: If the resistance is measured with the seat still warm, the resistance may vary outside of the specified range since the thermistor resistance varies with temperature.

Does the resistance measure within the specified range?

850-11,500 ohms
