The intent of this bulletin is to provide information regarding
the installation of the steering column assembly to the instrument panel (IP).
The original equipment IP steering column mounting studs
(1 and 2) can be identified by having a shoulder which may or may not be beveled.
In addition to following the applicable Service Manual
Steering Column Replacement Procedure, it is recommended that a visual inspection
be performed to ensure that the steering column upper and lower support brackets
fit cleanly over the stud shoulders prior to installing the stud nuts and
again after tightening the stud nuts.
