Removal Procedure
- Remove the three Attaching
nuts (2) from the AIR pump (1).
- Position aside the AIR pump (1).
- Remove the nut from the top of the transaxle mount.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
in General Information.
- Remove the three bolts
securing the front transaxle mount bracket to the transaxle.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Remove the front transaxle mount bracket from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Install the front transaxle
mount bracket to the transaxle.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
in General Information.
- Apply thread lock compound GM P/N 12345493 or equivalent,
to the front transaxle bracket bolts.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the three bolts securing the
front transaxle mount bracket to the transaxle.
Tighten
Tighten the front transaxle bracket bolts to 58 N·m (42 lb ft).
- Lower the vehicle.
- Install the top transaxle mount nut .
Tighten
Tighten transaxle mount nut to 80 N·m (59 lb ft).
- Install The AIR
pump (1) to the transaxle bracket.
- Install the three nuts (2) to AIR pump (1).
Tighten
Tighten the AIR pump bracket to 50 N·m (36 lb ft).
