Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the rear compartment sill plate. Refer to Rear Compartment Sill Trim Plate Replacement in Body Rear End.
  2. If removing the taillamp for bulb replacement only, proceed to step 5 at this time.

  3. Object Number: 662576  Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the taillamp connector.
  5. Press the grommet out of the rear end panel.
  6. Remove the nuts securing the taillamp to the body.
  7. Remove the taillamp from the body.
  8. Replace failed bulbs if necessary.

Installation Procedure

  1. If taillamp was removed for bulb replacement only, proceed to step 4.

  2. Object Number: 662576  Size: SH
  3. Route the taillamp connector and the grommet through the body.
  4. Verify that the grommet is fully seated in the body rear end panel.
  5. Install the taillamp to the body.
  6. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  7. Install the nuts that secure the tail lamp to the body.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 4.5 N·m (40 lb in).

  9. Connect the taillamp connector.
  10. Install the rear compartment sill plate. Refer to Rear Compartment Sill Trim Plate Replacement in Body Rear End.
