Did you perform the Instrument Cluster Diagnostic System Check?

Go to Step 2

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Instrument Cluster

1. Turn the ignition ON, with the engine OFF.
2. Press and release the E/M switch.

Does the MPH indicator and then the km/h indicator illuminate after each switch activation?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

1. Install a scan tool.
2. With a scan tool, observe the English/Metric SW.parameter in the IPC inputs data list.
3. Press the E/M switch.

Does the English/Metric Sw. parameter display Active?

Go to Step 4

Go to Driver Information Center (DIC) Switch Inoperative

Replace the IPC. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement .

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 5

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.

Did you correct the condition?

System OK
