1. Start the engine.
2. Install a scan tool.
3. With a scan tool, observe the Engine Oil Life Remaining parameter in the PCM Engine 2 data list.

Does the Engine Oil Life Remaining parameter display less than the specified value?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

1. Reset the engine oil life. Refer to GM Oil Life System Resetting in Maintenance and Lubrication.
2. With a scan tool, observe the Engine Oil Life Remaining parameter.

Does the Engine Oil Life Remaining parameter display the specified value?

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 4

1. With a scan tool, observe the DIC Reset Button parameter in the IPC inputs data list.
2. Press the DIC Reset Button.

Does the DIC Reset Button parameter display On?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Driver Information Center (DIC) Switch Inoperative

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.

Did you correct the condition?
