Removal Procedure

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Remove the fuel injection sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement in Engine Mechanical.

  3. Object Number: 378168  Size: SH

    Important: The MAF sensor on this engine is attached to the throttle body assembly.

  4. Disconnect the MAF sensor electrical connector (8) from the MAF sensor (1).
  5. Remove the screws (9) that hold the MAF sensor to the throttle body.
  6. Remove the MAF sensor (1) from the throttle body.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the MAF sensor (1) to the throttle body.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the screws (9) that hold the MAF sensor to the throttle body.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 3 N·m (27 lb in).

  5. Connect the MAF sensor electrical connector (8) to the MAF sensor (1).
  6. Install the fuel injection sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement in Engine Mechanical.
