Removal Procedure

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Remove the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement in Engine Mechanical.

  3. Object Number: 66405  Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the boost source and the signal hoses from the boost control solenoid (2).
  5. Disconnect the electrical connector from the boost control solenoid .
  6. Remove the retaining nut for the boost control solenoid .

  7. Object Number: 66407  Size: SH
  8. Remove the boost control solenoid (2).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the boost control solenoid (2).

  2. Object Number: 66405  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the retaining nut to the boost control solenoid .
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 8 N·m (72 in lb).

  5. Connect the electrical connector to the boost control solenoid .
  6. Connect the boost source and the signal hoses to the boost control solenoid.
  7. Install the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement in Engine Mechanical.
