Did you perform the TPM Diagnostic System Check?

  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  3. With a scan tool, observe the Tire Reset Switch parameter in the IPC data list.
  4. Press the TIRE PRESS RESET switch.

Does the scan tool display On when the switch is pressed?

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Disconnect the reset switch.
  3. Connect a 3 amp fused jumper wire between the harness connector of the reset switch signal circuit and a good ground.
  4. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  5. With a scan tool, observe the Tire Reset Switch parameter.

Does the scan tool display On?

Test the reset switch signal circuit for a high resistance or an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the ground circuit of the reset switch for a high resistance or an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the reset switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.
