Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  2. Remove the door module. Refer to Door Control Module Replacement .
  3. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .

  4. Object Number: 493260  Size: SH
  5. Remove the door handle fastener (2).

  6. Object Number: 442167  Size: SH
  7. Snap the handle and lock rods out of the rod guide clip.

  8. Object Number: 493260  Size: SH
  9. Slide the handle assembly forward to release the retainer tabs (1).

  10. Object Number: 441818  Size: SH
  11. Tilt the handle assembly and remove the rods from the handle in the following sequence:
  12. 7.1. Lock knob rod (1).
    7.2. Handle lever rod (2).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 441818  Size: SH
  1. Install the rods to the inside door handle in the following sequence:
  2. 1.1. Handle lever rod (2).
    1.2. Lock knob rod (1).

  3. Align the retainer tabs (1) to the slots in the door and slide the door handle rearward.

  4. Object Number: 442167  Size: SH
  5. Snap the handle and lock rods into the rod guide clip.

  6. Object Number: 493260  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  7. Install the inside door handle fastener (2).
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the fastener to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  9. Install the water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  10. Install the door module. Refer to Door Control Module Replacement .
  11. Install the door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
