Removal Procedure
- Remove the rear compartment lid trim. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Inner Panel Trim Replacement .
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the lid latch assembly.
- Disconnect the lid latch cable (2) from the lock cylinder.
- Remove the fastener (3) securing the rear compartment lid interior release handle to the rear compartment lid.
- Remove the fasteners securing the rear compartment lid latch assembly (1) to the rear compartment lid.
- Remove the lid latch assembly from the rear compartment lid.
Installation Procedure
- Install the lid latch assembly (1).
- Install the fasteners in order to secure the lid latch assembly (1) to the rear compartment lid.
- Install the latch cable (2) to the lock cylinder.
- Install the fastener (3) in order to secure the rear compartment lid interior release handle to the rear compartment lid.
- Connect the electrical connector to the lid latch assembly.
- Install the rear compartment lid trim. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Inner Panel Trim Replacement .
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the fasteners 11 N·m (93 lb in).
Tighten
Tighten the fastener (3) to 2 N·m (18 lb in).
Inspect the latch for proper operation before closing compartment lid.
