Subject: | Service VME - Trunk Water Leak - body rear weatherstrip |
Models: | . |
When servicing the vehicle with the VIN you entered, the following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms.
Some owners of 2003 Pontiac Bonnevilles may comment on water leaks in the trunk. If following the normal diagnostics does not identify the source of the leak, inspect the rear gutter area of the roof to sail panel seam for a possible gap in sealant that is allowing water to leak between the metal panel. Water will follow the sail panel down and leak into the trunk. On those vehicles that do experience this condition, it may be necessary to remove the back window to seal the gap between the roof gutter and the sail panel.
Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance. This diagnostic approach was developed for the vehicle with the VIN you entered and should not be automatically be used for other vehicles with similar symptoms.
