Normal Vehicle Use
These schedules are for vehicles that:
• | Carry passengers and cargo within recommended limits. These limits are
listed on the vehicles tire loading information label located on the drivers door. |
• | Are driven on reasonable road surfaces within legal driving limits. |
• | Use unleaded gasoline of the recommended type. For information on the
proper type of fuel to use, refer to the owner manual. |
Selecting the Right Schedule
Determine which of the two schedules is right for the vehicle. Refer to the
definitions of maintenance schedules below.

Short Trip/City Maintenance Definition

if any one of these conditions is true for your vehicle:
• | Most trips are less than 8-16 km (5-10 mi).
This is particularly important when outside temperatures are below freezing. |
• | Most trips include extensive idling such as frequent driving in stop-and-go
traffic. |
• | Most trips are through dusty areas. |
• | A trailer is frequently towed or a carrier is often used on top of the
vehicle. |
• | If the vehicle is used for delivery service, police, taxi or other commercial
application. |
Long Trip/Highway Maintenance Definition
Refer to

only if none of the conditions from the Short Trip/City Maintenance
Schedule is true.
