Removal Procedure
- Remove the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve.
Refer to
Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve Replacement
.
- Remove the EGR valve outlet pipe. Refer to
Exhaust Gas Recirculation Outlet Pipe Replacement
.
- Remove the EGR valve inlet pipe mounting bolt (2) from the exhaust
manifold.
- Remove the mounting bolt (2) and the
stud (3) from the EGR valve inlet pipe bracket.
- Remove the EGR valve inlet pipe assembly (1).
Installation Procedure
- Install the EGR valve inlet pipe assembly (1).
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the mounting bolt (2) and the stud (3) to the EGR valve
inlet pipe bracket.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt and stud to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).
- Install the EGR valve inlet pipe bolt (2)
to the exhaust manifold.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 29 N·m (21 lb in).
- Install the EGR valve outlet pipe. Refer to
Exhaust Gas Recirculation Outlet Pipe Replacement
.
