Verify that the Heated Seat Switch High Indicator Malfunction is present.

Does the high temperature indicator of the heated seat switch operate as described in the system description and operation?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.

Is the HIGH temperature indicator always ON?

Go to Step 6

  1. Disconnect the heated seat module connector C1.
  2. Momentarily connect a test lamp from battery positive voltage to the heated seat high temperature indicator control circuit of the heated seat module.

Does the HIGH temperature indicator illuminate?

Go to Step 7

Test the heated seat high temperature indicator control circuit between the heated seat module and the heated seat switch for a short to ground or an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the heated seat high temperature indicator control circuit between the heated seat module and the heated seat switch for a short to voltage. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the heated seat module. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.
